We are seeking a highly skilled Violence Prevention Specialist to join our team at SGA Youth and Family Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing violence prevention programs in schools, working closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver prevention education and intervention services to youth, focusing on trauma-informed approaches and resilience building.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement positive classroom strategies and provide training on trauma-informed practices.
- Participate in school safety strategic planning to advise on violence prevention education interventions and strategies.
- Conduct training and technical assistance for school personnel, parents, and community members on prevention programs and trauma-informed practices.
- Develop and implement evaluation methods to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in violence prevention and trauma-informed care, and apply this knowledge to program development and implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least two years of experience working with youth and families, preferably in a community-based setting.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and resilience building principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
