About the Role

We're seeking a subject matter expert to help grow our quantum computing algorithms work program. As a member of our team, you'll conduct research and provide technical expertise to advise our government sponsors on the potential utility of quantum computers for solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform research in quantum computing algorithms, error correction, and related areas.
  • Advise and educate our government sponsors on all aspects of quantum computing and its potential applications.
  • Develop technical benchmarks, metrics, and roadmaps to help our sponsors better understand and engage with quantum technologies.
  • Explore new or emerging technologies that may be of interest to MITRE and our sponsors.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience in Physics, Quantum, Computer Science, Chemistry, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Experience in one or more areas of quantum computing such as algorithm development, quantum error correction, NISQ/hybrid quantum algorithms, quantum machine learning, or quantum error mitigation.
  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.
  • The ability to manage and pursue new opportunities to meet sponsor requirements in a collaborative environment with both internal and external researchers.
  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work arrangement.
