Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Quantum Moonshot Project team at MITRE. The successful candidate will have a strong background in experimental quantum physics and a proven track record of research in the field of quantum optics and cryo-optical measurement of solid-state single photon sources and quantum memories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and test novel spin-photon interfaces, chip-based quantum photonic circuits, and quantum optical measurement systems
  • Collaborate closely with team members at partner institutions to integrate generation, control, and measurement of photonic or matter quantum bits for the development of a photonic universal quantum computer
  • Conduct research and publish results in academic journals and conferences
  • Assist with the planning, development, and execution of improving lab capabilities
  • Collaborate with external partners on quantum information science research
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Background in experimental optics, photonics, or atomic physics
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in quantum optics and cryo-optical measurement of solid-state single photon sources and quantum memories
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
