Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Crude Oil Pipeline Trader to enhance our operations at Unipec America Inc. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in trading activities related to the commodities sector, with a focus on physical crude oil pipeline markets across the United States and Canada. In this role, you will oversee profit and loss responsibilities and drive business expansion in both volume and profit margins.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize and execute marketing and trading operations effectively.
  • Prepare and finalize transactions according to established benchmarks while adhering to acceptable risk parameters.
  • Provide essential technical and fundamental market insights to the Trading team.
  • Support the physical Crude teams and the Risk Marketing unit by delivering market-making services in crude derivatives, aligned with global risk management strategies.
  • Research, develop, and document innovative methods for sourcing physical products.
  • Advise on strategies to enhance the value of company assets.
  • Ensure accurate capture and verification of transaction details.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant policies, practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Analyze industry trends and continuously gather market intelligence to identify opportunities for value addition.
  • Propose and implement innovative marketing strategies to maximize value under varying market conditions.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with company standards within a highly regulated environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the trading industry.
  • Proficient in contract negotiations and possess strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experienced in the mechanisms of crude pipeline trading.
  • Familiar with marketing crude pipelines to local refineries in the U.S., including their operational patterns.
  • Solid experience with trading software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all role-specific competencies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of physical and financial commodity markets.
  • Knowledge and experience in utilizing market risk management tools.
  • Strong familiarity with local and regional commodity markets, combined with business acumen and advanced analytical skills.
  • Able to thrive in a high-pressure, dynamic environment with competing deadlines.
  • Experience in a geographically dispersed work environment is advantageous.
