This role involves managing profit and loss while expanding business volume and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:- Responsible for optimizing and executing marketing and trading strategies.
- Prepare and execute transactions adhering to established benchmarks and risk parameters.
- Provide insightful technical and fundamental market data to the Trading team.
- Assist the physical Crude teams and Risk Marketing unit by delivering market-making services in crude derivatives, aligning with the global risk management framework.
- Research, develop, and document innovative methods for sourcing physical products.
- Advise on strategies to enhance the value of company assets.
- Ensure accurate capture and verification of transaction details.
- Maintain compliance with relevant policies, practices, and regulations.
- Monitor industry trends, gather market intelligence, and evaluate opportunities to create value for the company.
- Propose and implement creative strategies to provide marketing solutions that maximize value across varying market conditions.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with company standards within a highly regulated environment, adhering to both external and internal controls.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant trading and logistics experience.
- Proficient in contract negotiations and possess strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experienced in the mechanics of pipeline crude trading.
- Familiar with marketing pipeline crude to local refineries in Canada and the U.S.
- Proficient in trading software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of physical and financial commodity markets.
- Knowledgeable in market risk management tools.
- Strong grasp of local and regional commodity markets, coupled with business insight and advanced analytical capabilities.
- Able to thrive in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities.
- Experience in a geographically diverse setting is advantageous.
