About the Role

Cedars-Sinai is a renowned leader in healthcare, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and pioneering innovative research. As a Clinical Research Finance Coordinator I, you will be part of a talented team that ensures the highest level of clinical quality and patient happiness.

Reporting to the Pulmonary Research Program/Lung Institute, this key role plays a critical part in developing clinical trial budgets for industry, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and investigator-initiated clinical research. You will evaluate research protocols to assess resource needs, identify cost allocation, negotiate budgets, detail budgets, and monitor accounts and invoicing.

This position requires close collaboration with investigators and ancillary departments to identify research procedures needed, budget estimates, and cost details. You will process Ancillary Agreements with departments providing research services, work with the CSMC office of Sponsored Research to develop final budgets, and negotiate trial budgets and payments with industry sponsors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate research protocols to assess resource needs, identifying cost allocation, negotiating budgets, detailing budgets, and monitoring accounts and invoicing.
  • Work closely with investigators and ancillary departments to identify research procedures needed, budget estimates, and cost details.
  • Process Ancillary Agreements with departments providing research services.
  • Develop and manage clinical trial budgets, ensuring compliance with federal and local agencies, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board.
  • Negotiate trial budgets and payments with industry sponsors, monitoring study accounts to evaluate cost expenses and reconcile accounts receivable and payments.
  • Responsible for invoicing sponsors, patient research billing, reimbursement to ancillary departments, and payment tracking, ensuring accurate classification of expenses.
  • Analyze financial data to determine financial performance and project financial probabilities, preparing and delivering data, reports, and presentations to investigators, management, and leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related degree.
  • 1 year of experience with billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or related field.
