Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Investigator - Clinical Research Physician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical research, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and clinical expertise in the conduct of clinical trials
  • Lead and oversee clinical research staff, focusing on patient safety and compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate and assess clinical trial participants for enrollment
  • Ensure clinical trial participants receive respectful and compassionate care throughout their participation
  • Interact positively and collaboratively with sponsors, clients, and team members
  • Provide supplemental protocol training for staff to ensure a thorough understanding
  • Participate in Investigator Meetings (IMs) and continuing education activities to maintain current medical and clinical trial knowledge

Essential Duties

  • Maintain current licensure to practice medicine
  • Provide documentation of credentials to the sponsor and institutional review board (IRB)
  • Demonstrate the proper education, training, and experience to conduct clinical trials
  • Assume responsibility for the conduct of the clinical trial
  • Sign the form FDA 1572 as the Investigator
  • Sign the protocol as the Investigator
  • Sign sponsor contract(s) as the Investigator

Requirements

  • Medical license in California
  • Trained and experienced in clinical research
  • Familiar with the background of the study drug and requirements of the protocol
  • High ethical standards and professional demeanor
  • Friendly and outgoing
  • Demonstrate a passion for direct patient care
  • Clinical competence, positive leadership, and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel up to 20%

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, and walking
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels
