Job Title: Wireless Network Engineer III

Job Summary:
The Wireless Network Core Engineer is responsible for integration testing, troubleshooting, and certification of 5G Core network systems. This role plays a key part in the certification of all 5G Core network systems and reports issues to development teams and vendors. The candidate must have a full understanding of 3GPP standards, 5G call flows, and hands-on experience in troubleshooting core subsystem elements like NR-RAN, AMF, PCF, SMF, CHF, AUSF, UDM, UDR, NRF UPF, CBRS, and Mediation platforms. The candidate must also have knowledge in Network Routers, Switches, Gateways, Firewalls, Docker containers, and Kubernetes. The candidate collaborates with Vendors, internal Network Architects, and Product Development teams as required. The candidate primarily works in a lab environment during testing, recreating issues, and troubleshooting lab and field-reported tickets.

Essential Functions of the Position:
Supporting 5G gNB, Smallcell functional and troubleshooting. The candidate must have excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills of 5G Core Network Architecture and interfaces and troubleshooting skills in 5G Core Interfaces (N1, N2, N3, N4, N6, N8, N10, N G RAN components as RRU, DU/CU for vRAN configuration. The candidate must have a thorough understanding and hands-on experience in Core Network Elements AMF, UPF, AUSF/AAA, UDM, NSF. The candidate must have knowledge in CBRS and FFC requirements (3.5GHz). The candidate must have thorough knowledge in virtualization platforms, Docker containers, and Kubernetes. The candidate must actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. The candidate provides support for escalated support across organizations. The candidate works with third-party vendors for resolution or gets support as needed. The candidate coaches less experienced staff. The candidate adheres to industry-specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. The candidate knows, understands, and follows company policy. The candidate performs other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Preferred Experience:
The candidate should have excellent knowledge in testing and troubleshooting 5G Mobile Wireless core Networks or equivalent in similar telecom industry. The candidate should have excellent knowledge in virtualization platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes, with 2-3 years of experience. The candidate should have hands-on experience using protocol communications test equipment and test tools. The candidate should have experience in testing and troubleshooting IP core network and E2E call flows. The candidate must possess excellent industry knowledge and theoretical understanding of 3GPP, IEEE 802.11. The candidate should have experience with testing all Layers 1 thru 7 networks. The candidate should be knowledgeable with bug tracking and ticketing systems like Jira, Remedy, etc. The candidate should have extensive hands-on experience using network test equipment, such as Ixia, Spirent, Fluke Networks, IBB, Spectrum Analyzers, Site Survey Planning tools, and Traffic Generators. The candidate should have a strong work ethic with a desire to meet and exceed personal and business goals. The candidate should be self-motivated to take ownership of assigned projects, tickets, and deliverables. The candidate should be able to work both in a team and independently on assigned projects. The candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate should learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies. The candidate should be able to work with little supervision to execute and troubleshoot highly technical and complex issues. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and attention to details. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience. The candidate should have professional-level certification or equivalent work experience. The candidate should have 7+ years of professional experience in an MSO/ISP Networking operations support or Engineering.
