Software Development Director for R&D

The Director of R&D Software Development will lead a global team of software engineers in developing cutting-edge solutions for our customers. This role will be responsible for managing the development of next-gen software for existing and new solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement product requirements, and driving successful outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Passionate about building and supporting an enterprise platform to support products and maintaining legacy customer-facing applications.
- Willingness to go as wide and as deep as needed to drive successful outcomes.
- Change management leader; experience leading teams, particularly long-tenured associates, through organizational growth and scale.
- Continuous improvement mentality: someone who relishes the challenge to continually improve the service delivery and customer experience.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience successfully engineering and leading end-to-end product development.
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in organizations with strong software engineering processes, ideally building solutions for the Cloud.
- 5+ years of experience leading highly motivated engineering teams in mature organizations.
- Track record of successful product development and deployment using modern software engineering, DevOps, Agile, SCRUM and sprint practices, Azure or AWS, and Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiar with building large scale, Azure and hybrid (cloud & on-premise) based applications, preferably with .NET and modern JS frameworks.
Work Environment:
The employee will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers, and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent. The employee will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, database management, email, and the Internet. The employee is frequently required to use a calculator, fax, copy machine, and phone system.
