MagickWoods Limited is seeking a highly skilled Safety and Training Specialist to join our team in Aurora, IL.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all organization safety and training activities and programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment for all employees.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OSHA regulations and compliance standards, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs to reduce the frequency of accidents and injuries.
  • Plan, implement, communicate, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Audit various safety program elements of effectiveness, schedule and perform safety inspections, identify issues, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Supervise, control, and monitor fire prevention and firefighting activities.
  • Investigate all accidents and injuries, recommend and/or coordinate corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs designed to instruct employees in general safe work practices and specific instruction with regard to hazards unique to any job assignment.
  • Review and respond to OSHA inquiries.
  • Identify potential safety hazards at all facilities, report hazards and recommendations for eliminating/reducing to management.
  • Coordinate with other departments on design and construction of new equipment, facilities, and work methods to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  • Encourage employees and supervisors to report all unsafe conditions immediately and schedule or coordinate repairs as soon as possible.
  • Encourage employees and supervisors to report any injury that occurs on the job, even a slight cut or strain, immediately.
  • Maintain records for statistical measurement and conformance to standard practices of the safety industry.
  • Prepare and maintain required safety reports.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of related experience; bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
