Job Overview

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a highly skilled Railroad Safety Specialist to support railroad flagging services for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOT's, as well as Railroad Suppliers, Contractors, and Consultants alike.

This role requires a strong understanding of railroad safety regulations and procedures, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide jobsite coordination and ensure compliance with railroad safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with Dispatchers, Train Crews, and other Railroad Personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies, and identify rule violations to resolve accordingly.
  • Submit daily field reports detailing Contractor and/or Railroad activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with a Class 1 Railroad, Regional Short Line, Transit System, State DOT Rail Division, Railroad Supplier, Railroad Contractor, and/or Railroad Consultant.
  • Strong knowledge of railroad safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
