Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation/Electrical Controls Specialist to troubleshoot and maintain electrical power and control systems for production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Systems Knowledge: Proficient in electrical systems and wiring (120/480 volts).
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Perform troubleshooting, preventive, and ongoing maintenance for production lines, including electrical repairs and component replacements (motors, drives, pumps, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, transmissions).
  • Safety & Independence: Work safely and independently while troubleshooting and repairing electrical and controls problems.
  • System Modifications: Build and modify existing electrical control systems for production equipment.
  • Safety Practices: Demonstrate proper safety practices (LOTO & Arc-Flash).
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Specialized Skills: Expertise in HMI, PLC, VFD, and network interfaces (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Control Techniques).
  • Network Understanding: Knowledge of Ethernet, DeviceNet, and/or Profinet.
  • PLC Knowledge: Proficient in Siemens S7 and Rockwell PLCs, using Simatic Manager, TIA Portal, RSLogix, or SoftLogix.
  • Problem Solving: Self-motivated and works independently to solve problems and implement solutions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Maintain good interpersonal skills and develop strong working relationships with peers and management.
  • Attendance: Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • On-Call Coverage: Willingness to work scheduled weekend on-call coverage.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tools: Must have own tools.

Requirements:

  • Technical Degree: Minimum 2-year technical degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience.
  • CAD Systems: Familiarity with CAD systems.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Plastic Extrusion: Experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting: Ability to lift 50 lbs.
