Senior Principal Engineer

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer to join our team in the Actuation Control Systems department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing complex system architectures and performing system design activities such as developing and managing system, hardware and software requirements, performing system level integration/test and assisting in validation for complex actuation control systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, allocate and manage complex actuation system, electronics hardware and software requirements.
- Research and develop complex, safety critical, embedded control system designs and architectures.
- Define actuation, electronics, hardware, and software interfaces and functionality.
- Prepare and/or review documentation for actuation system designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures.
- Perform system/product integration.
- Verify and validate moderately complex aspects of actuation systems designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Produce and/or review technical documents, specifications and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in related engineering field.
- 10+ years of experience in actuation and embedded electronic controls development, including familiarity with systems such as flight controls and actuation systems.
- Requirements development, design, modelling, simulation, analysis, integration, and verification, including testing.
- Experience in full lifecycle development including system requirements, design, system-level integration, validation, and verification.
- Master's Degree in related engineering field.
- 12+ years of experience in actuation and embedded electronic control systems development, including familiarity with systems such as flight controls and actuation systems.
- Experience with System Fault Management design and architecture development.
- Knowledge in basic Physics, Mechanical Mechanisms, Hydraulics and Electronic Circuits.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
- 2+ years of experience developing architectural models using MBSE methodologies and best practices.
- 2+ years of experience using MBSE/SYSML tools such as MagicDraw/Cameo.
- Experience with development of formal validation and verification procedures.
- Familiar with safety critical development including ARP4754, DO-178B/C and DO-254 or equivalent stringent process requirements.
- Knowledgeable of commercial and military certification objectives and activities.
