At Novant Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Transport Specialist to join our team. As an Emergency Medical Technician/Ambulance Operator, you will be responsible for providing safe and timely transport of patients between facilities, while also maintaining the CCT vehicles and ensuring state required supply levels.

Key responsibilities include assisting the registered nurse/paramedic with patient care, as outlined by the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services. You will also be expected to operate emergency vehicles equivalent to the Novant Health Critical Care Transport ambulances, and possess strong communication skills, including the ability to access, read and interpret maps.

To be successful in this role, you will need a High School Diploma or GED, and a minimum of two years of experience driving emergency vehicles in emergency traffic. You must also hold a current NC EMT Certification, and have completed an Emergency Vehicle Operations Class or Equivalent. Additionally, you will need to have a strong commitment to delivering the most remarkable patient experience, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe and timely transport of patients between facilities
  • Maintain CCT vehicles and ensure state required supply levels
  • Assist registered nurse/paramedic with patient care
  • Operate emergency vehicles equivalent to Novant Health Critical Care Transport ambulances
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare teams

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years of experience driving emergency vehicles in emergency traffic
  • Current NC EMT Certification
  • Completed Emergency Vehicle Operations Class or Equivalent
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
