Job Overview

Team collaboration is essential to identify and implement process enhancements aimed at improving safety, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:
  • Interpret and follow process operation sheets, tooling documentation, technical plans, and related materials.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements and dimensions.
  • Change and reset tooling and fixtures as necessary.
  • Complete operator certification requirements, including the Characteristics Verification Process and relevant certifications.
  • Understand part process flow and maintain communication with production scheduling to manage weekly commitments.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery, including oil and coolant checks, and submit maintenance requests as needed.
  • Read and validate machine programs, and collaborate with engineers on new part programs or processes.
  • Actively contribute to a high-performance team focused on problem-solving and process improvements.
  • Demonstrate willingness to operate various machines, with appropriate training based on operational needs.
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity for machine setup and operation.
  • Complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.
  • Report safety concerns and engage in solutions to address them.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and concepts such as lean manufacturing.
  • Mentor new team members, participate in team meetings, and maintain professional communication.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience following detailed instructions and planning.
  • One year of experience interpreting basic blueprints and performing simple arithmetic.
  • One year of experience using precision measuring tools.
  • A machining certificate or two years of machining experience is required.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality of work.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with computer applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities.
  • Participation in process improvement initiatives.
  • Willingness to train and support fellow machinists.
  • Availability for overtime work.
