Team collaboration is essential to identify and implement process enhancements aimed at improving safety, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and workforce development.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Interpret and follow process operation sheets, tooling documentation, technical plans, and related materials.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements and dimensions.
- Change and reset tooling and fixtures as necessary.
- Complete operator certification requirements, including the Characteristics Verification Process and relevant certifications.
- Understand part process flow and maintain communication with production scheduling to manage weekly commitments.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery, including oil and coolant checks, and submit maintenance requests as needed.
- Read and validate machine programs, and collaborate with engineers on new part programs or processes.
- Actively contribute to a high-performance team focused on problem-solving and process improvements.
- Demonstrate willingness to operate various machines, with appropriate training based on operational needs.
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity for machine setup and operation.
- Complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.
- Report safety concerns and engage in solutions to address them.
- Familiarity with computer systems and concepts such as lean manufacturing.
- Mentor new team members, participate in team meetings, and maintain professional communication.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum one year of experience following detailed instructions and planning.
- One year of experience interpreting basic blueprints and performing simple arithmetic.
- One year of experience using precision measuring tools.
- A machining certificate or two years of machining experience is required.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality of work.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with computer applications.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities.
- Participation in process improvement initiatives.
- Willingness to train and support fellow machinists.
- Availability for overtime work.
