Job Overview:

The Construction Site Supervisor will directly manage and coordinate the activities of various trades personnel, including carpenters, laborers, and operators on-site. This role may also involve engaging in some construction tasks alongside the project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume personal accountability for maintaining safety within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) environment.
  • Direct, coordinate, and lead team members involved in construction activities, assigning tasks based on material and labor requirements.
  • Oversee crews to ensure high-quality workmanship, fostering efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, teamwork, and pride.
  • Identify and communicate priority projects or concerns to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team to provide estimates on hours worked, materials required, and staffing needs.
  • Conduct routine quantity take-offs for construction materials such as concrete and wood.
  • Regularly assess repair and maintenance needs for all major equipment on assigned projects.
  • Ensure team members are trained in and adhere to all necessary safety protocols.
  • Occasionally perform trade work alongside team members, offering guidance and training as necessary.
  • Inspect ongoing work to confirm compliance with specifications, schedules, and quality standards as per AP's quality management guidelines.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized job site, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and that the site remains clear of debris.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated history of progressive leadership experience with proven outcomes, including a high school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of relevant trades experience. A degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, MS Project, Excel, Sure Trak, and/or AutoCad.
  • Strong understanding of building plans, specifications, shop drawings, and product data.
  • Proven track record in promoting safety initiatives and compliance.
  • Current or ability to achieve compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, push, and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds regularly throughout the day.
  • Agility to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently during the workday.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and accept long-term assignments as needed.
  • Ability to work in various (sometimes extreme) weather conditions.
  • Proficient in using both electrical and manual tools and measurement devices.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification and a commercial driver's license is preferred.
  • Exemplary integrity and ethical standards.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience in complex projects, actively contributing to growth and change; effective in driving operations and executing plans.
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, and listening) to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build successful and lasting relationships.

Estimated Pay: $30-$35/hr.
