Position Overview:

As a Sales Associate, you'll be responsible for driving revenue by building strong relationships with our clients, sharing style and product information, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment. You'll consistently meet or exceed individual and store goals, while contributing to the overall success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Experience:
  • Provide exceptional customer service by anticipating client needs and exceeding expectations
  • Build relationships with clients, create loyalty, and multi-task while servicing internal and external clients
  • Address client concerns, resolve issues when possible, and involve management when necessary
  • Portray a friendly, energetic, and engaging manner, while being respectful and professional
  • Take ownership of feedback and use it for professional growth and development
  • Communicate effectively with management, team members, and external clients
  • Build collaborative relationships by sharing ideas, treating others fairly, and valuing differences

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, practices, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local laws
Operations:
  • Complete opening and closing procedures, focusing on client needs (e.g., replenishing merchandise, recovering the store, processing shipments)
  • Meet merchandise processing standards and maintain an organized work area
  • Adhere to Loss Prevention practices and report potential incidents to ensure shortage control and protect company assets
  • Maintain a safe work environment and report potential hazards to management
  • Participate in inventory preparation and assist with other tasks as needed
  • Report to work as scheduled, record time accurately, and remain flexible to meet business needs
  • Follow all Knitwell Group operational guidelines, processes, and procedures
  • Review bulletin boards daily
Technical Expertise:
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and navigate our computer systems
  • Perform register transactions quickly and efficiently (e.g., sales, returns, exchanges, payments)
  • Be proficient in using Distributed Order Maintenance (DOM's) and StyleFinder to locate products and process transactions accurately
  • Operate the phone, answering calls with a greeting, transferring, and placing calls on hold
  • Operate and understand the functions of the Point of Sale (POS) system
Product/Brand Management:
  • Understand and articulate our brand positioning, including our uniqueness, marketing initiatives, and current trends
  • Live our company values and behaviors in all interactions
  • Participate in store meetings and attend training sessions
  • Use associate education tools to build product and styling knowledge with peers
  • Embody our brand by adhering to our dress code guidelines
  • Pack and wrap client purchases according to our standards
Requirements:
  • Client Service: Ability to function as a role model, prioritizing client needs
  • Follow Directions: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Merchandising: Knowledge of visual standards and techniques, and ability to implement and maintain with our guidelines
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, management, business partners, and team members
  • Accuracy: Ability to handle cash and provide change without error
  • Schedule: Remain flexible in scheduling to meet business needs
  • Physical: Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally, maneuver around the sales floor and stock room
Educational Requirements and Experience:
  • Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year sales associate or relevant experience in the services industry with proven results
