Job Title: Therapeutic Assistant

Join the team at Moody Neuro Rehabilitation Institute as a Therapeutic Assistant, where you will play a vital role in providing 24-hour supervision, care, and documentation of activities in the residential area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Observe and document patient behavior, acting as a role model for patients and interacting with them to provide assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Ensure patient safety, reinforce treatment plans, and Moody Neuro policies, and assist therapy staff with modules.
  • Maintain various checklists, contracts, and daily log sheets, upholding the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization while maintaining strict confidentiality of personnel and patient data.
Requirements:
  • High-School Diploma or equivalent, with a college background in Behavioral Science or Psychology preferred.
  • At least two years' experience in Residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Programs or one-two years' experience with disabled populations, dealing with cognitive problems.
  • Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) and current/valid Driver's license.
Work Environment:

The Therapeutic Assistant will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with patients, staff, and families to provide high-quality care and support. The role requires flexibility, innovation, and good judgment, with the ability to work rotating shifts and assist patients with transfers in wheelchairs.

The successful candidate will be able to stimulate and motivate persons served with problems in motivation, demonstrate knowledge of social customs and responsibilities, and communicate accurate and pertinent information through documentation.

The Therapeutic Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and records, including seizure reports, ADL check sheets, medication sheets, shift change reports, critical incident reports, and other relevant documents.

The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and patient-centered care.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a variety of settings, including residential areas, therapy rooms, and outdoor environments, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.

The Therapeutic Assistant will be expected to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, with a focus on providing high-quality care and support that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being.
