Job Title: Community Engagement Liaison

The Montgomery County Children's Opportunity Alliance is seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Liaison to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a community engagement strategy to promote high-quality early care and education programs in Montgomery County.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage a community engagement strategy to engage with diverse stakeholders, including parents, community leaders, and early childhood professionals.
  • Represent the Alliance at community events and meetings to promote our mission and goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of the early childhood landscape in Montgomery County and ensure that our outreach efforts are inclusive and equitable.
  • Collaborate with other Alliance staff to integrate community feedback into our strategy development work.
  • Mobilize community stakeholders to join the Alliance through various engagement opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of theory and practice regarding racial equity, social justice, and community organizing.
  • Ability to initiate and manage projects, balance competing priorities, and plan and conduct efficient meetings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to shift schedule to attend work events on evenings and weekends.
  • Montgomery County resident preferred.
  • Bilingual English with Amharic, Spanish, Mandarin (Chinese), Vietnamese, Korean or Portuguese preferred.
Benefits:
  • Salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience.
