Job Title: Community Engagement Liaison

At The Montgomery County Children's Opportunity Alliance, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Engagement Liaison to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic organization that is committed to ensuring an equitable and integrated system of high-quality, accessible, and affordable early care and education options for our youngest citizens.

Job Summary

The Community Engagement Liaison will play a critical role in driving the organization's work forward by spearheading community engagement, outreach, and education efforts. This includes developing and managing a community engagement strategy, representing the Alliance at community events, and ensuring ongoing integration of community feedback into the Alliance's strategy development work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a community engagement strategy that fosters trusting relationships with early childhood stakeholders, including parents, family members, health professionals, and leaders from the faith-based and nonprofit sectors.
  • Represent the Alliance at community events and meetings, including parent advisory boards and other stakeholder groups.
  • Maintain knowledge of the ECE landscape in Montgomery County and ensure outreach to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure ongoing integration of community feedback into the Alliance's strategy development work.
  • Mobilize community stakeholders to join the Alliance through various engagement opportunities.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of theory and practice regarding racial equity, social justice, and community organizing.
  • Ability to initiate and manage projects, balance competing priorities, and plan efficient meetings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to shift schedule to attend work events on evenings and weekends.
  • Montgomery County resident preferred.
  • Bilingual English with Amharic, Spanish, Mandarin (Chinese), Vietnamese, Korean, or Portuguese preferred.
What We Offer
  • Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience.
  • Full medical and dental benefits at no cost to the individual.
