Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly experienced Director of Global Engineering to lead our Global Engineering group. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering strategies to support new business and capacity expansion opportunities globally.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of process engineering, project management, and global collaboration. They will be able to partner with commercial operations, business and site leaders, technical teams, finance, and customers to drive engineering initiatives forward.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and presenting a strategic vision to executive management for major capital investments
  • Leading the global engineering team in providing capacity expansion analysis, conceptual design, and preliminary engineering development
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of a global construction database for benchmarking PSG projects
  • Managing the implementation of strategic master-planning and partnering with local site leadership teams to develop executable 5-year capital plans

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) and 10+ years of experience with large-scale pharmaceutical projects. They will also have expertise in pharmaceutical engineering project management, validated experience in leading a portfolio of capital projects, and knowledge of GMP manufacturing platforms.
