About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Apple Services Engineering team. As a key member of our iCloud Services SRE team, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable, reliable, and high-performance machine learning (ML) infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement ML systems and services that meet the needs of our customers and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with development partners and product teams to ensure ML services are well-aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring and logging tools to ensure system health and availability.
  • Deploy and support existing and new ML models and infrastructure.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during service impacting events.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and process enhancements to improve overall system quality and reliability.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on large-scale distributed systems and ML infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of core operating system principles, networking fundamentals, and systems management.
  • Fluency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Swift, Rust, or GoLang).
  • Knowledge of key security principles, including encryption and key management.
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis, and automation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
What We Offer

At Apple, we offer a competitive salary range of $166,600 to $296,300, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and a range of discounted products and services. Additionally, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, as well as relocation assistance.
