Position Overview
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is in search of skilled individuals for the role of Customer Service Representative within the Internal Customer Service Section of the Business Operations Division.

General Responsibilities
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) for Water and Wastewater Services is tasked with managing utility payments and overdue accounts, negotiating and processing payment plans, and ensuring accurate customer and billing transactions. The CSR utilizes various software systems to maintain customer account information and effectively handle service requests.

The CSR is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to both the public and County Agencies regarding utility services, which includes:
  • Billing inquiries and payment collection
  • Processing utility account documentation
  • Managing a high volume of customer interactions via phone and in-person
  • Performing routine customer service and billing tasks in a dynamic environment

The CSR must communicate clearly and effectively to address both standard and complex customer service needs.

Key Duties
This role involves managing multiple customer service and billing tasks simultaneously, requiring strong focus and attention to detail to resolve issues accurately and promptly. The CSR interacts with a diverse clientele, including both calm and upset customers, through various communication channels.

Collaboration with the Accounting Division and other Customer Service Areas is essential to uphold a consistent approach to internal customer service and billing processes, ensuring the highest standards of service quality.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess a minimum of one year of experience in customer service or a related field. Preferred qualifications include:
  • A degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related discipline
  • Relevant certifications in customer service
  • Experience with utility billing software
  • Proficiency in additional languages
