Cytologist Role

Job Summary


At LifeBridge Health, we are seeking a skilled Cytologist to join our team. As a Cytologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all services are delivered in accordance with our mission statement and SPIRIT values. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and screen all cytologic specimens, assist on fine needle procedures, and interpret findings under the direction of a pathologist. You will also be responsible for following laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements, including CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and CLIA. Additionally, you will determine that test results meet the requirements of our quality control program and ensure that results are approved for reporting following department policy. You will also maintain all necessary records and documentation. This role requires the utilization of critical thinking skills and complex problem-solving in the resolution of clinical and instrument problems.

Requirements


  • Required Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Cytology, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree requirement may be waived by the manager if appropriately licensed, depending on the amount and type of experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Cytologist - Board Registered or specialist in Cytology by a recognized credentialing board.
  • Eligible to become Registered.
  • LC - Licensed Cytologist.
