The Financial Analyst will report to the Director of Finance within the Office of Information Technology and will play a pivotal role in the formulation and oversight of: budgets, funds flow/reconciliation, and forecasting for a designated portfolio of departments and/or programs. This position is committed to delivering outstanding customer service in financial management, operational budget development, and the implementation of policies and changes as they arise.
The Financial Analyst will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for OIT finances and will provide financial training for the department. The role necessitates the ability to stay informed about the financial capabilities of each specific program while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of OIT's overall financial landscape.
- Management of the annual budget and financial projections
- Financial oversight and compliance assurance
- Support for new initiatives and business development
- General administration with a strong emphasis on service excellence
Education and Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required (experience with financial structures in an academic environment is preferred);
• Proficiency in complex financial models, record-keeping, and database management, with the capability to develop new systems and procedures;
• Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple demanding projects concurrently in a dynamic environment;
• Collaborative working style with the ability to foster strong relationships across all organizational levels;
• Initiative and capability to work both independently and as part of a team;
• Proven ability to support a community that values diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive setting.
