The Role

This position focuses on fostering relationships and showcasing the clinical outcomes and advantages of Novo Nordisk products. You will educate healthcare professionals about key products and provide essential medical information while coordinating educational initiatives such as workshops and forums. Additionally, you may identify potential sites for clinical trials across various development stages. Candidates should possess a robust scientific and clinical background.

Within the Field Medical Affairs framework, this role serves as a scientific liaison between Novo Nordisk and key external stakeholders, facilitating scientific dialogue. You will offer advanced product knowledge and medical support to various internal teams, including Medical, Sales, Marketing, Managed Care, and Government, leveraging your academic credentials and scientific expertise to engage with healthcare providers and relevant organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Duties:
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks in accordance with established SOPs.
    • Adhere to all legal, regulatory, and compliance guidelines.
    • Manage regional business operations and budgets effectively.
    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Novo Nordisk processes and assist colleagues as needed.
    • Provide monthly reports on scientific support activities and budget expenditures.
    • Document all activities within the customer response management system and manage expenses appropriately.
  • Advocacy & Relationship Development:
    • Participate in medical and scientific meetings to stay informed about current issues and data related to Novo Nordisk products.
    • Develop and nurture relationships with key healthcare providers and integrated health networks.
    • Promote appropriate use of Novo Nordisk products and services.
    • Support internal teams in addressing inquiries from healthcare providers.
  • Field-Based Clinical Support:
    • Collaborate with the Health Economics & Outcomes Research team to articulate the scientific value of Novo Nordisk products to key decision-makers.
    • Work with Marketing and Sales to inform scientific strategies that enhance product development.
    • Coordinate with clinical trial sites to ensure effective study management and timely completion.
    • Collaborate with regional team members to ensure comprehensive coverage of clinical and scientific needs.
    • Engage with internal stakeholders to provide tailored clinical education and support.
    • Deliver product and scientific updates as required, including formulary presentations.

Physical Requirements

This role requires 50-75% overnight travel. A valid driver's license is necessary, and candidates must maintain good standing regarding driving records.

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree is mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a healthcare system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment is required.
  • Relevant clinical or therapeutic experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, particularly in formulary processes, is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in Rare Bleeding Disorders is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
