Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firearms Instructor/Senior Range Safety Officer to join our team at Olgoonik Corporation. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting firearms training courses, as well as serving as a range safety officer and subject matter expert on firearms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the Diplomatic Security range facility and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA standards and regulations.
  • Plan, organize, and instruct firearms training courses, including basic and advanced firearms and use of deadly force.
  • Conduct firearms and deadly force scenario-based training, providing after-action reviews and feedback to trainees.
  • Apply U.S. Constitutional law, relevant case law, and DS policies to firearms training and use of force scenarios.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness to ensure that training objectives have been met.
  • Comply with all Federal Law Enforcement Training and Accreditation (FLETA) standards and DS and Firearms Training program policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; certified firearms training instructor experience preferred.
  • Three to five years of firearms instructor experience required, with evidence of increasing work responsibility in a firearms training environment.
  • One year as a level I instructor preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expert knowledge of health and safety standards for firearms ranges and training facilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices to provide basic training in the application of firearms use.
  • Intermediate knowledge of security programs, operations, and techniques, including terrorism and anti-terrorism operations, use of force, civil liability, with respect to firearms and appropriate techniques, tactics, and procedures.
Security Clearance:
  • Possess or be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to complete work requiring regular and recurring physical exertion, including periods of standing, occasional heavy lifting, and irregular hours in both training and protective service operations.
Travel:

Periodic local travel and occasionally, travel to other areas within and outside the United States may be required.
