Role Overview
  • The Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist acts as a clinical authority and healthcare provider, educator, collaborator, consultant, leader, and researcher for a designated patient demographic or specialty area, providing expert consultation to resolve intricate patient care challenges and offering strategic guidance on patient care practices.
  • In this capacity, you will employ a professional evidence-based nursing practice framework, engaging with three spheres of influence: patient/family, nursing, and system/organization.
Department Insights

The Women's and Infant Services team includes Labor and Delivery, Level IIIB Neonatal Intensive Care, and Mother/Baby units. Our Women's Services manage approximately 4,000 deliveries annually. With a nationally recognized NICU, we provide exceptional care for patients facing high-risk pregnancies and complex medical situations. Our services encompass comprehensive clinical care and support for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, addressing both uncomplicated and complex needs.

Key Duties
  • Serve as a collaborative source of clinical expertise and professional guidance, significantly contributing to the development, maintenance, and application of nursing standards, standard order sets, patient care protocols, and policies in partnership with healthcare team members.
  • Engage in the assessment, implementation, and continuous evaluation of clinical services for a specified patient population, analyzing patient data to ensure appropriateness of care.
  • Provide expertise and support during healthcare surveys and regulatory compliance reviews from various entities, ensuring readiness and collaborating with leadership on post-survey action planning.
  • Participate in risk management related to nursing practice, identifying and communicating issues while integrating evidence into all clinical activities. Actively engage in research, evidence-based practice (EBP), and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and manage a variety of high-profile, multidisciplinary projects aimed at enhancing hospital performance in areas such as infection prevention, safety, compliance, and nursing practice.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing (Required)
  • Doctoral degree in Nursing, Education, or Healthcare Administration (Preferred)
