Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team at Plazahotelelpaso. As a Steward, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment to ensure efficient and effective cleaning processes.
- Store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly condition to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Stock supplies, such as food and utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars to ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Sweep and wash floors and clean trash cans to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas to prevent litter and maintain a clean environment.
- Perform food preparation functions in the event of staffing shortages or during peak periods to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of guest satisfaction, working towards increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to Plazahotelelpaso's EarthView program to minimize environmental impact.
- Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as requested by management to support the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining areas.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous stewarding experience required or equivalent training.
Work Environment and Context:
This role requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and reaching. The work schedule may vary and may include working on holidays and weekends.
