Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our team at the University of California. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional support to our physicians and patients, ensuring seamless communication and access to quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and administrative staff to facilitate efficient communication and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients in accessing services within the health system, including referrals to specialists and other resources.
  • Facilitate communication with referring physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide follow-up support to patients through telephone and electronic communication.

Requirements:

  • Ability to set priorities and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including patients, physicians, and administrative staff.
  • Knowledge of patient-related policies and procedures, as well as a working understanding of the University system and its services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of specific specialty practices and workflows.
  • Working knowledge of hospital computer systems and personal computer systems, including software products for administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with authorization processes and managed care programs.
