Patient Access Coordinator

Job Summary:
As a Patient Access Representative at Guthrie, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient experiences. Your primary responsibility will be to communicate effectively with patients, participants, and staff to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures. You will also perform various clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create patient encounters in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for Emergency Department, radiology, and outpatient patients, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
• Participate in daily auditing of registration processes to maintain compliance and quality standards.
• Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls, Vocera calls, and Nurse call system, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues efficiently.
• Collect co-pays and provide financial guidance related to paying outstanding balances, offering estimate letters for services rendered.
• Perform Health Information Management department duties after hours, ensuring continuity of care and patient satisfaction.
• Participate in Emergency Department staff meetings and Shared Governance, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and staff engagement.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1-year experience in a position requiring frequent and direct in-person customer contact, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal communication skills, frequent keyboarding, and exceptional attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
