Clinical Nurse - Pediatric Care

Position Overview

As a Clinical Nurse specializing in pediatrics, you will be entrusted with delivering exceptional nursing care within a designated specialty clinic.

Your role encompasses a wide range of both general and specialized nursing responsibilities, contributing to a comprehensive healthcare team aimed at providing thorough evaluations for young patients.

In this capacity, you will support the lead nurse in overseeing clinic staff and may assume their responsibilities during their absence.

You may also guide and mentor junior nursing staff, receiving direction from the head nurse or physician while exercising independent judgment within established protocols. Additionally, you may oversee ancillary nursing staff in specific tasks and play a role in their training.

This position involves working in typical clinic environments, requiring frequent interaction with patients, families, and various healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience, ideally in pediatrics.
  • Experience in pediatric general and/or specialty areas such as Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Adolescent Medicine, and Infectious Disease.
  • Background in Mental Health, Case Management, and/or OB/GYN is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of social resources and referral processes is beneficial.
Required Qualifications

Education:

Completion of a Board of Nursing accredited nursing program or currently enrolled in a program expected to conclude within 120 days of application.


License/Certification:

Possession of a current Registered Nursing license in Texas or a temporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice pending full licensure. New graduates must successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on their first attempt.


Experience:
No prior experience is necessary.
