Clinical Nurse - Pediatric Care

Position Overview

Individuals in this role are tasked with delivering expert nursing services within a designated specialty clinic.

They engage in a range of general and specialized nursing responsibilities as integral members of a comprehensive healthcare team, ensuring thorough patient assessments.

These professionals typically support the lead nurse in overseeing other clinic staff and may take on their responsibilities during their absence.

They may also mentor and guide junior nursing staff. Operates under the supervision of the head nurse or physician while exercising autonomy within established protocols. May oversee ancillary nursing staff in executing specific duties and contributes to the training of new personnel.

Work is conducted in standard clinic environments, necessitating extensive interaction with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in Pediatrics.
  • Experience in Pediatric general and/or specialty areas (e.g., Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Adolescent Medicine, Infectious Disease).
  • Background in Mental Health, Case Management, and/or OB/GYN is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of social resources and referral systems.
Required Qualifications

Education:


Completion of a nursing program accredited by the Board of Nursing or scheduled to finish a professional nursing program within 120 days of applying.


License/Certification:


Possession of a current Registered Nursing license in Texas or a temporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice pending full licensure in Texas.

New graduates must successfully complete the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on their first attempt.

Experience:
No prior experience is necessary.
