Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infectious Diseases Physician to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Hospital Epidemiologist/General Infectious Diseases Faculty member, you will play a critical role in providing clinical care to patients with infectious diseases, conducting research, and teaching the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with infectious diseases, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver superior clinical care.
  • Contribute to the clinical mission of VCU Health, sharing responsibility for infectious diseases coverage of inpatient consult services and providing outpatient care for infectious diseases patients.
  • Teach and mentor students, residents, and faculty members in the areas of infectious diseases and epidemiology.
  • Serve on departmental, School, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field.
Requirements
  • Board eligible/board certified M.D. (or equivalent M.B.B.S or D.O.) with experience in infectious diseases or a closely related discipline.
  • Record of publication and conference dissemination demonstrating expertise in the faculty's area of research.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Program experience with Hospital Infection Prevention Programming or Infection Control.
