Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, you will provide exceptional clinical care to children with complex and chronic infections, while also contributing to our academic and research endeavors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient consultation services for children with suspected infections, complex or chronic conditions, or difficult-to-treat infections.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to review antibiotic, antiviral, or antifungal therapies and provide guidance on drug monitoring for toxicities and side effects.
  • Participate in epidemiologic investigations and develop strategies to prevent and control infections in healthcare settings and the community.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) program at VCUHS and CHoR.
  • Engage in teaching, research, and service activities, including mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and participating in departmental and school-level committees.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
  • Experience in clinical care of patients, particularly those with complex and chronic infections.
  • Experience working in an academic medical center and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
