Position Overview:
Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a highly skilled Lead Custodian to oversee custodial services and floor maintenance. As a prominent federal facilities contractor, AFO is dedicated to supporting our shareholder communities in Alaska while ensuring exceptional service delivery to our government clients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute advanced floor maintenance tasks with a focus on quality and efficiency.
2. Act as the primary custodial liaison, coordinating special cleaning initiatives and routine cleaning activities in alignment with departmental standards and client expectations.
3. Collaborate with facility managers and supervisors to manage after-hours floor maintenance projects effectively.
4. Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, and carpet extractors.
5. Move furniture as necessary to facilitate thorough floor maintenance.
6. Ensure all assigned equipment is kept clean and report any maintenance needs promptly.
7. Distribute supplies to team members and supervise junior custodial staff, ensuring adherence to best practices.
8. Work autonomously with a significant degree of initiative and judgment.
9. Identify and report any unsafe or hazardous conditions encountered during work.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of extensive experience in advanced floor maintenance and custodial operations.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles.
- Proficient in the use of custodial floor care products and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Valid state driver's license is mandatory.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, and bend for extended periods.
