Director of Educational Opportunity Centers Program

Overview

The Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) Program is dedicated to community engagement aimed at identifying and assisting first-generation, low-income individuals aged 19 and above in accessing higher education resources. The program operates across several counties, focusing on outreach and stakeholder development to keep the community informed about available services and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight: Lead the strategic planning and execution of program objectives while managing daily operations of the EOC.
  • Staff Leadership: Provide guidance and oversight to EOC personnel, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the program budget, ensuring adherence to federal and institutional guidelines while monitoring expenditures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal TRIO regulations and institutional policies.
  • Community Engagement: Design and implement outreach initiatives to attract eligible participants, collaborating with local organizations and educational institutions.
  • Data Analysis: Manage the collection and evaluation of program data to assess effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit necessary reports to federal and institutional stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participant Support: Offer guidance to program participants in navigating educational pathways, financial aid options, and career planning.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Work in partnership with other departments and community entities to enhance program offerings and support services.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes through continuous education and participation in relevant conferences.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Master's degree in education, public administration, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in TRIO programs or similar educational initiatives, with demonstrated supervisory and management experience.
  • Preferred: Previous participation in a TRIO program is advantageous.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in data management.

Physical Requirements
