Position Overview:

The skilled Coil Assembly Technician will possess a solid understanding of electric motor maintenance and repair services. Entry-level candidates will receive training to prepare and strip stators and/or armatures for AC/DC electric motors and specialized equipment by executing the following tasks.


Essential Responsibilities for Entry-Level Candidates:


Learn and execute the motor stripping process, which necessitates the use of a respirator and the ability to endure the conditions and temperatures of the stripping area.

Conduct physical and electrical measurements, ensuring accurate connections of windings.
Strip and extract windings utilizing the Dreisilker MotorSafe technique: Core loss test laminations.
Gather and record data.
Precisely cut winding heads with an abrasive saw.
Heat windings to approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Hydraulically remove coils.
Eliminate remaining insulation and insulation paper.
Clean, scrape, sand, file, and deburr the lamination steel core in preparation for rewinding.

Insert coils into lamination slots following connection data.
Prepare winding slot insulation by measuring, cutting, folding, and creasing.
Secure coils with insulation tape.
Assist in the dipping, trickling, vacuum pressure, and encapsulation processes for windings.
Perform other routine tasks as assigned by management.

Responsibilities for Experienced Candidates:
Inspect windings and coils of electro-mechanical devices.
Conduct electrical tests on windings to meet international standards and electrical tolerance requirements.
Create sample coils in preparation for the manufacturing of form or random wound coils.
Produce coils using automatic winding, spreading, looping, and/or tensioning machinery.
Insert coils into lamination slots according to connection specifications.
Shape winding heads to the correct dimensions, secure them, and/or insert blocking.
Establish electrical connections and verify them.
Solder, braze, or weld electrical connections as needed.
Utilize hand tools to clean commutator risers.
Measure wire and insulation sizes with micrometers.
Assist in root-cause failure analysis.
Conduct basic tests on electric motors.
Respond to service calls as requested.
Perform other routine tasks as assigned by management.
