Electrical Controls Specialist

Cencora is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective use and functionality of automated equipment within our Distribution Center. This includes diagnosing electrical controls issues to a component level, programming basic changes to PLC controllers, and troubleshooting communication issues with devices connected to the MHE network or other networks.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues with automated equipment, including testing, replacement, or repair of electrical systems, motors, power supplies, and other components.
- Program basic changes to PLC controllers, including modifying timing, adding alarms and logic for additional inputs or outputs, and properly wiring additional devices to PLC's and other controllers.
- Troubleshoot communication issues with devices connected to the MHE network or other networks, including understanding device IP addressing, network switches, and other related technologies.
- Operate and diagnose all chill water plant systems, including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, BAS, HVAC, and water treatment systems.
- Mentor other technicians and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Strong technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD layouts, illustrated parts breakdown diagrams, and electrical circuitry diagrams and drawings.
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues, including testing, replacement, or repair of electrical systems, motors, power supplies, and other components.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ability to read electrical schematic, wiring diagrams, and PLC ladder and block logic.
- Ability to program basic changes to PLC controllers, including modifying timing, adding alarms and logic for additional inputs or outputs, and properly wiring additional devices to PLC's and other controllers.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and personal computers, including computer hardware and software experience.
