Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Network Detection and Research Team at Broadcom Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing network intrusion detection capabilities for our VMware vDefend Advanced Threat Prevention solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop network intrusion detection capabilities using Suricata and other relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate detection capabilities into our VMware vDefend solution.
  • Contribute to the development of new tools and techniques to enhance our detection capabilities.
  • Work with a global team to design and implement network detection pipelines.
  • Monitor the threat landscape and identify gaps in our detection capabilities.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality detections with minimal or no false positives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science and 12+ years of experience in threat detection, or PhD in Computer Science with a focus on computer security or machine learning and 7+ years of experience.
  • Deep working knowledge in Python.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience in the analysis of security data and in the usage of Elasticsearch/Kibana stacks.

What We Offer:

  • An annual base salary range of $141,000 - $225,000.
  • A discretionary annual bonus and equity in accordance with relevant plan documents.
