Job Summary

This role is responsible for coordinating and implementing the Safe Environment Program, a critical initiative aimed at preventing child abuse and ensuring a safe environment for all individuals within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child abuse prevention and a passion for creating a culture of safety and respect. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parishes, schools, and other entities within the Archdiocese.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to Archdiocesan entities to implement abuse prevention policies and procedures.
  • Conduct trainings and presentations related to abuse prevention and education.
  • Manage internal databases, gather data, and complete reports to ensure effective program evaluation and monitoring.
  • Assist with program evaluation and monitoring to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Represent the Archdiocese in a professional manner, both in person and via phone or email.
  • Support office efforts to prevent child abuse and promote healing through various methods, including serving on office committees and workgroups.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Working knowledge of and comfort with Catholic faith and parish life is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team and build relationships with a wide range of staff, volunteers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop plans of action/correction.
  • Ability to organize work, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to address situations requiring prompt decision and action.
  • Ability to perform job duties with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Must be computer proficient with strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel within five counties of the Archdiocese.
  • Position is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Successful completion of mandatory Safe Environment trainings.
