JOB INFORMATION

We are seeking a Supervising Management Analyst to oversee, direct, and evaluate the performance of professional and subprofessional staff. This role involves conducting a range of intricate budgetary and administrative analyses, including long-term financial planning and feasibility assessments.

The key responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing budget proposals and conducting cost-benefit analyses.
  • Making financial forecasts and estimating expenditures.
  • Evaluating municipal programs and suggesting cost-effective operational methods.
  • Determining optimal staffing levels to enhance efficiency.
  • Preparing comprehensive research reports and presenting findings to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Conducting analyses related to capital improvement projects and grants.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
NOTES:
  • Scheduled wage increase of 2% effective 1/1/25.
  • Eligible employees hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).
  • Supervising Management Analysts are expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment in evaluating issues and making recommendations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (minimum completed units = 120 semester/180 quarter).

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of four years of full-time experience in professional-level budgetary or administrative analysis, including:
  1. Budgetary/Fiscal Analysis: Involves data collection and analysis for financial projections, budget justification, and fiscal project management.
  2. Administrative/Organizational Analysis: Involves management data analysis, administrative project execution, and organizational process evaluations.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
  • Proof of degree/transcripts, if applicable.
  • Documentation of Out-of-Class Assignment (OCA) experience, if applicable.
SCREENING PROCESS:

All applications will undergo an automated evaluation system to ensure compliance with minimum requirements. Successful candidates will be placed on a list for potential interviews based on qualifications.
