The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Associate Commissioner, System Facilities Manager. This position is responsible for leading the daily operations of the department's facilities management team, overseeing the management of over 1,000 facilities statewide, and ensuring the effective delivery of support services to the department's clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures for facilities management and support services.
- Manage and direct complex support services programs, including facilities management, lease planning, and space management.
- Provide executive-level reporting, manage a multi-million-dollar budget, and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
- Interpret federal and state laws and regulations related to facilities management and support services.
- Lead and manage a team of professionals, including hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures.
- Coordinate the development of the department's budget and Legislative Appropriations Requests.
Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws related to facilities management, property management, leasing, contract management, and budgeting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of professionals.
- Excellent analytical, strategic, and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and competing priorities.
