Job Overview

Position Objective: As a Regional Property Manager, you will play a crucial role in implementing operational strategies by guiding team members across a portfolio of properties. Your leadership will ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and practices that empower each property to achieve and surpass financial targets and performance goals.

*This role entails overseeing a collection of communities within a designated market. Responsibilities may evolve based on changes in property count, community dynamics, and the strategic vision of the organization.

Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to the role and may be adjusted as necessary:

  • Oversee the financial and operational success of the assigned portfolio, pinpointing performance indicators and formulating action plans to address challenges or capitalize on opportunities to meet objectives.
  • Lead a team of community managers by recruiting, training, and evaluating team members, ensuring their performance aligns with organizational policies and effective business practices.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure properties maintain established standards, addressing any concerns and advocating for necessary capital improvements.
  • Prepare annual budgets for the portfolio and monitor financial performance by analyzing statements, reconciling monthly accounts, and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Analyze market data to identify trends that could affect portfolio performance, collaborating with community managers and other departments to implement strategies that enhance occupancy and revenue.
  • Coordinate services from vendors and contractors by assessing needs, negotiating contracts, overseeing project progress, and ensuring clear communication among team members.
  • Stay informed about industry changes in technology and standards by participating in professional development opportunities and utilizing relevant resources.

Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in regional management of a diverse multifamily portfolio, including various community styles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to listen, empathize, and effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Strong judgment and prioritization skills, with a proven track record in operational excellence and the ability to drive new initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, fostering a collaborative environment while guiding team development.
  • Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and multitasking to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality in work outputs.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with external vendors and clients.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
