We are seeking an experienced Japanese Chef de Partie to join our team at Nama at Aman New York. This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-end restaurant and be part of a dynamic kitchen team.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of a specific station, preparing high-quality food, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain operations of your assigned station, ensuring seamless service and quality dishes.
- Assist in daily prep and complete mise en place tasks as assigned by the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine.
- Set up station using proper recipes and fresh products, adhering to company standards.
- Communicate effectively with the team regarding menu items, problems, and situations.
- Accommodate guests' requests while maintaining our high standards.
- Ensure accurate duplication of dishes and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Be aware of inventory levels and communicate with the team to prevent stockouts.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all staff members and management.
- Store items properly at the end of shift, labeling and dating all products.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, reflecting the high standards of the company.
- Culinary degree or equivalent practical experience in a kitchen, preferably in a Japanese fine dining restaurant.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays, demonstrating adaptability.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration.
- Food Safety certification, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Ability to manage time wisely, work with minimal supervision, and maintain attention to detail.
- Sensitivity to cultural nuances and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintaining a clean and professional appearance as per company policies.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform physical tasks required for the role.
