Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, and repairs, to ensure the upkeep of our facilities and resident units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance of resident units and common areas, including carpentry, painting, and other general repairs.
  • Prepare vacant units for move-in, including painting, cleaning, and other necessary tasks.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning, including inspections and testing, and maintain logs and records of results.
  • Perform maintenance on security systems, fire alarms, and door locks.
  • Adhere to a schedule and take on-call duties as directed.
  • Perform landscaping duties, including lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and bed maintenance, as needed.
  • Clean common areas, including emptying trash, dusting, and vacuuming, polishing and cleaning furniture, cleaning fixtures, window ledges, and mopping floor areas.
  • Remove trash from common areas and maintain the dumpster area.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining related maintenance records.
  • Follow all Material Data Safety Sheets and follow instructions regarding the use, disposal, or spills of materials.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with residents, coworkers, community leaders, owners, management, vendors, and service providers.
  • Treat all residents and staff with respect and dignity.
  • Manage relationships, both internally and externally, exercising appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of maintenance experience, with knowledge of janitorial equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Good mechanical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to work well independently and coordinate with others.
  • Able to professionally assist others as needed, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
