About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Parasitology team at IDEXX Laboratories. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in performing laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory testing using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic tools to diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
  • Set up and run lab tests, read and release results according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Specialize in the area of Parasitology, examining samples to identify parasites using fecal flotation and various microscopic techniques.
Requirements
  • Ability to work the overnight shift.
  • Knowledge and background in the veterinary/laboratory fields.
  • Ability to work with and around animal fecal matter.
  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT) is a plus.
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment, including microscopes, pipetting, and clinical diagnostic analyzers.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work reliably and precisely.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job, including standing and sitting for extended periods, phone and computer use, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
