As a Pharmacy Technician, you will provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment, coordinating patient intake, coverage determination, payment coordination, and delivery methods to ensure seamless patient care for those obtaining specialty medications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs customer service and manages large call volumes.
- Assists patients with non-clinical questions and concerns.
- Supports patient intake, accurately enters patient demographics, history, and order information into the practice management system.
- Completes referrals to specialty providers, home health, etc., where needed.
- Arranges for proper medication delivery when needed.
- Processes insurance and verifies eligibility and benefits.
- Supports providers and payers to expedite prior authorizations and formulary exceptions.
- Facilitates financial support and prescription assistance for patients.
- Ensures compliance and tracks patients and medication utilization.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies.
- 0-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Preferred qualifications include vocational or technical training from an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician training program and 2-5 years of experience with advanced knowledge of insurance processing, prior authorizations, and formulary resolutions.
Licenses/Certifications: Registered Pharmacy Technician - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire, Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required within 180 Days.
