Job Description:
**Mission/Position Description Summary**
The Comet Laboratory Technician I serves as a key member of the CoMET team, responsible for performing laboratory testing and analysis to ensure the quality and integrity of construction materials. The successful candidate will be proficient in test procedures and able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform basic laboratory testing and analysis
- Assist senior staff with advanced testing and analysis
- Document work performed and communicate test results to clients
- Provide support on engineering projects as directed
- Assist other personnel as needed
- Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain assigned equipment and ensure quality standards are met
**Additional Key Expectations:**
- Ensure all laboratory work meets or exceeds minimum requirements set forth in the quality manual
- Ensure the laboratory has the necessary resources to execute testing per applicable standards
**Key Criteria/Requirements:**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good skills in math and communication
- Ability to lift concrete, soil, or asphalt samples
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to acquire related certifications within 6 months of hire
**Preferable Additional Certifications:**
- ACI Level 1, ACI Strength, TxAPA 1B or 1A
