Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Arc. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by performing routine medical laboratory tests.
Key Responsibilities- Process and analyze specimens, perform tests, and report results in a timely and accurate manner.
- Arrange for the pickup or delivery of specimens sent to reference labs or outside labs.
- Maintain records of proficiency testing samples and ensure compliance with laboratory quality control policies.
- Recognize and address factors that affect measurements and results, and communicate with appropriate personnel as needed.
- Communicate test results, normal ranges, and specimen requirements to authorized sources.
- Assist in the training of new employees and students, and demonstrate technical laboratory skills.
- Ensure that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning.
- Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or MLT with completion of school laboratory training.
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
- Phlebotomy may be required.
- Qualified as Testing Personnel as defined under CLIA.
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field and completion of a clinical laboratory science or medical technology program from an accredited institution with one or more years of experience in clinical laboratory.
- Must be certification eligible (ASCP or AMT).
- Phlebotomy may be required.
